With the approach of Fall officially beginning this Wed., September 23, I will sadly miss the long days of summer, my own vegetable garden and local farmers markets. Growing my own veggies has been a passion of mine for many years and yes, it does take some work, but, well worth it in the end. Another thing I’ll miss about summer will be the local farmer’s markets which I absolutely love visiting! You can stop by a local farmers market before their last day of operation ends to enjoy many of their offerings.

This Saturday, Sept. 26 will be the last day to purchase produce, meats, baked goods and more at the Historic Newburgh Farmers Market, located at the Edgewater Grille parking lot.  Hours are 8a – 12p.  Visit: historicnewburgh.org.

The downtown Evansville Farmers Market is opened Fridays through Oct. 2 at Second & Sycamore Streets from 8a – 1p.  Visit:  Downtownevansvillefarmersmarket.com.

The Warrick County Farmers Market at the Boonville square on Second Street is opened Saturdays 7:30a – noon through October.  Visit ag.purdue.edu/counties/warrick.
