Kentucky Teenager Looks Like a Young Matthew McConaughey
If you ask most Matthew McConaughey fans where they first saw and fell in love with the actor, they'll tell you it was 1993's Dazed and Confused. Surely, you remember this, right?
Matthew was 24-years-old at the time and that role really propelled him toward Hollywood superstardom. He followed up that film with roles in Angels in the Outfield, Boys on the Side, Lone Star and others. By the time that 1996's A Time to Kill hit theatres, Matthew as a household name and a box office powerhouse.
Since that time, McConaughey has earned critical acclaim too, which reached its pinnacle in 2013, when he won an Academy Award for Best Actor for the role of Roy Woodroof in Dallas Buyers Club.
While Matthew's roles have diversified over the last thirty years, his look hasn't changed all that much really.
Sure, he's aged like the rest of us, but you know Matthew McConaughey when you see him. And, there's a teenager here in Owensboro who looks like a ringer for a "young" Matthew.
Logan Starks is 18-years-old and is a senior at Owensboro High School. His dad is local filmmaker P.J. Starks (of Volumes of Blood fame). P.J.'s girlfriend, Leslie Dotson, co-owns Altogether Beautiful, a salon here it town. Logan stopped by there last week and this happened.
When Leslie washed Logan's hair to get ready to cut it, everyone noticed Logan's striking resemblance to Matthew McConaughey. At least from the profile, this kid is a ringer.
I mean, really?? Here are a couple of photos of Matthew that really show off that rather startling resemblance.
Logan's dad noticed the resemblance immediately. He says, "When he turned the corner and I saw his slicked back hair, McConaughey was the first person who came to mind. It was uncanny!"
So, what's it like to kinda look like one of the biggest movie stars in the world? Logan says, "I thought it was a clean hairstyle. A lot of people liked it. It was pretty cool looking like a famous celebrity, if only for a minute."
And the resemblance really did only last that long. About as long as Matthew McConaughey's role as Guy #2 in 1993's My Boyfriend's Back. Leslie ended up cutting his hair down and now Logan just looks like Logan.
As for his proud, filmmaker dad, P.J. says, "Considering the genetic source, it's obviously a fluke that he turned out to be a good-looking kid." Now that the McConaughey resemblance is gone, P.J. adds, "I can go happily back to being the only Stark getting asked for autographs."
