Don't give up on the summer of 2020 just yet, our favorite Kentucky theme park has been given the green light to open.

During his Thursday address to the public, Governor Andy Beshear's words were like music to my ears. Kentucky residents have been doing their part to flatten the curve, and the reopen Kentucky plan is moving forward.

“Based on talks we’ve had over the last several days, we can announce that Kentucky Kingdom will be able to open the week of June 29,” said Gov. Beshear. “We appreciate the operators of the park for working on the reopening plan.”

Beginning June 29, 2020, swimming pools and Kentucky Kingdom will be allowed to open. There will be restrictions, and extensive precautions. of course. Here are some of the changes you can expect at Kentucky Kingdom:

  • Guests and Team members will have temperature checks with a touchless infrared thermometer before entering the park.
  • Team members will be required to wear face coverings. Guests are encouraged to wear them when it is safe to do so.They will be available for purchase in the park.
  • Guests will need to follow the physical distancing guidelines. There will be signage and makers to assist with this.
  • An enhanced cleaning and disinfecting program is in place.

Note: At the time of publishing, online tickets were not available for purchase.
