The Seelbach Hilton Hotel

If history and elegance are two things you enjoy, then the Seelbach Hilton Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky is right up your alley.  The Seelbach Hilton was the brainchild of Otto and Louis Seelbach, two brothers with a dream of opening a lavish hotel.  It's said the brothers spared no expense when building the hotel by importing lavish marble from all over the world, bronzes from France, linens from Ireland, and more.  These two had a dream of making something extravagant, and in May of 1905, the hotel opened its doors.   Fast forward to 2023 and the Seelbach Hilton Hotel is a popular hotel, known for its elegance, history, oh and a ghost or two.

The Lady in Blue

Probably the most known haunting at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel is the Lady in Blue. So who is the lady in blue?  It's believed that the Lady in Blue is the spirit of Patricia Wilson, a woman who tragically passed away at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel by falling down the elevator shaft.

According to Larry Johnson, the hotel historian on July 14th, 1936 Patricia Wilson was staying at the Seelbach Hilton and waiting for her ex-husband at the hotel bar.  She had recently moved to Kentucky with her ex-husband and she was waiting for him to meet her at the bar.

While sitting at the bar she got word that her ex-husband was tragically killed in a car accident.  Patricia's body was found the next day on top of the service elevator, where it is still unknown whether she took her own life, or if it was a tragic accident, or worse.

Back in the 1980s two different people claimed to see a woman in a blue dress roaming the halls of the Seelbach Hilton Hotel, and it's believed the "Lady in Blue" is the ghost of Patricia Wilson.
