‘Just Cookies’ New Owners Are Keeping It In The Family
Recently 'Just Cookies' in Washington Square Mall went on the market and everyone has been dying to find out who the new owners are.
Just Cookies in Washington Square Mall has been a staple in the community for over 30 years. I think I can speak for most of the tri-state and say it reminds me of my childhood. Getting a cookie while out shopping with my mom was the best (I still do this even at 27). After a number of years, the owner decided to sell and retire. This had the tri-state in a frenzy wondering what would happen to the beloved cookie place in Washington Square Mall.
I am happy to say that it's staying in the family through a distant relative. Christopher and Toni Bellomy are taking over ownership today and expect to be open in the next few days. The new owners are eager to get through the transition and start serving up the same delicious cookies to the tri-state. In fact, they will be offering more delicious treats such as cakes, cupcakes, and even sweeter desserts when the holiday's roll around. One of the biggest questions they've got is "will it still be the same recipe?" The answer is YES! The Bellomy's are going to keep the same recipe but will add to the list with more family recipes.
I guess I should say I am partial to the new owners. Christopher Bellomy is actually my first cousin and I am super excited for them! Oh and they gave us a pretty sweet 99.5 WKDQ cookie cake!
