Bourbon Lovers Need To See These Kentucky Barrel Cabins
You Can Actually Sleep Inside A Bourbon Barrel In Kentucky
Okay so I was scrolling and came across something that stopped me completely and I immediately thought about every single person in the Tri-State who loves bourbon. Because this is basically a dream road trip waiting to happen and it is only a few hours away.
There is a place in Kentucky called Bourbon Barrel Retreats and exactly what it sounds like is exactly what it is.
What Is Bourbon Barrel Retreats
Bourbon Barrel Retreats sits on 50 gently rolling acres between Bardstown and Lawrenceburg, right in the heart of Kentucky Bourbon Country, and it is the only barrel-shaped rental cabin property in the entire United States. So yes, you are literally sleeping inside a giant bourbon barrel and no I am not exaggerating.
Each 300 square foot private unit is shaped like an oversized bourbon barre l and comes with a king bed, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette. Seven of the nine barrel cabins also include private outdoor hot tubs. So you can sit in a hot tub, outside, in bourbon country, after spending the day on the Bourbon Trail. I mean come on.
The Location Could Not Be More Perfect
The property sits at the geographic center of about 17 or 18 distilleries, meaning Four Roses, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Maker's Mark, and Jim Beam are all within about 20 to 30 minutes. For anyone in the Tri-State who has ever talked about doing a Kentucky bourbon trip, this is literally the home base you did not know you needed.
Bourbon Barrel Retreats also offers a free concierge service that puts together personalized daily itineraries including distillery tours, tastings, and meal reservations. So you do not even have to figure out the logistics yourself. They do it for you. Sold.
What Is New For 20265
The team behind Bourbon Barrel Retreats has opened The White Bison, an on-site restaurant and tasting room, meaning you do not even have to leave the property to have a full experience. Guests can also look forward to a custom bourbon release coming soon.
A standard barrel stay starts at $250 a night and weekends book up fast, but there are still weeknight openings available.
This One Is Worth The Drive
For anyone in Evansville who has been looking for a fun weekend trip that feels different, this is it. It is close, it is unique, and it is exactly the kind of thing you will be talking about long after you get home.
You can check out availability and book your stay at Bourbon Barrel Retreats. Then come tell me all about it on the MY Morning Show because I need to live vicariously through all of you until I get there myself.
