KY Artist Besties Give Discarded Precious Moments Figures New Life With Makeover Trend

Did you ever collect Precious Moments figurines? I always thought they were so sweet. I still have a couple that my dad gave me in an old curio cabinet.

They could certainly be considered outdated cheesy tchotchkes nowadays though. A new trend has emerged in art circles on social media of rescuing discarded figurines from thrift stores and giving them new life with clay and paint.

I LOVE repurposed art. I make some of my own in my spare time by thrifting old paintings and prints and putting song lyrics or funny and inspirational quotes on them. I've never really ventured into the 3-D art world, but I love watching polymer clay artist videos.

I recently discovered that an artist duo of two best friends from right here in Kentucky has jumped on this new trend. Here is a Tiktok video of one of their makeover creations.
