Though no one likes to think about terrible things happening, sometimes life takes an unexpected turn. Thankfully, there are people ready to help when tragedy strikes.
The Warrick County Coroner’s Office is asking everyone to take a few minutes to update the emergency contact information on their phone. If you’re ever involved in a serious accident or medical emergency, first responders may need a fast way to reach your loved ones.

Warrick County Coroner Urges Residents to Update Emergency Contacts

In a Facebook post, the office explained that one of the hardest parts of a first responder’s job is quickly finding the right person to contact during an emergency. In those moments, every second matters.

Without that information readily available, an already difficult situation can become even harder.

Why Emergency Contact Info Matters

The coroner’s office also shared a graphic with step-by-step instructions for adding emergency contacts to both Android and iPhone devices, including exact directions for iPhone users.

They encourage everyone to set this up for themselves and their family members, especially teens and older adults.

A Quick Step That Could Make a Big Difference

It only takes a few minutes to do, it’s simple to set up, and it could make all the difference when it matters most.

Doggie Treat Guide

My 15-pound dog lives for car rides and pup cups. If you’re looking for free or low cost dog treats in Owensboro and Evansville, here are the best spots to spoil your pup.

These treats are mostly complimentary extras, meaning:
  • They’re often free but can vary by location and employee. Ask - don't assume.
  • Some places may charge a small fee for the cup itself.
  • Make an additional purchase, don't just roll up and expect something for free.
  • Always ask politely at the window or counter. Most baristas or carhops love handing them out.
  • Dairy and sugar can upset dog tummies and should be enjoyed in moderation.
  • Dogs must be kept leashed and outside, with the exception of service dogs.
