It Takes a Village No-Kill Animal Rescue in Evansville to Move to New Building
How ITV Found Its New Home
Several years ago, a small building next to the Stockwell Inn became a safe haven for dogs and cats that had nowhere else to go. In 2010, Brie Stafford and Susan Gainey met for lunch and talked about how much the Evansville area needed a no kill shelter. According to the ITV website, they were guided by the belief that saving one dog will not change the world, but for that one dog, the world will change forever.
What started as fostering animals out of their homes became something much bigger. In 2012, ITV opened its first facility on Stockwell.
ITV’s Growth in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky
Since opening the Evansville shelter, ITV has expanded into Spencer County, Indiana, and Daviess County, Kentucky. Each location supports their mission to help more animals in need.
Why It Was Time to Leave the Stockwell Space
The building on Stockwell was originally a storage facility. It has served its purpose well, but everyone at ITV agreed that it was time for an upgrade. Last week, the team shared on Facebook that they finally found their new home.
Excited” is an understatement!
After 14 years in our Stockwell location, we are thrilled to share that we have found a new building to grow in. Big things are ahead for ITV, and we can’t wait to bring you along on this journey.
Stay tuned for updates, sneak peeks, and ways YOU can help make this next chapter possible!

Inside the Search for the Right Building
I spoke with Christeen Campbell, ITV’s operations manager, who told me they have been looking for more than two years for the perfect space. They finally found it in the old Foot Comfort World building located at 5115 Oak Grove Rd. on Evansville's east side. She said they chose it because it has plenty of room to grow and support the larger vision for ITV’s future.
The team expects to finalize everything in February and begin the build-out soon after. They hope to move in this summer or fall, although construction will determine the exact timeline.
How You Can Support the New ITV Project
This is a major project that will require community support. Christeen encouraged friends and followers to keep an eye on Facebook for updates and new ways to donate as the project moves forward.
