I've been to a lot of nerdy hobby stores over the years, and Evansville Toys & Games is definitely one of my favorites. As a collector of all things Star Wars, I personally love checking out their collection of action figures, vehicles, and other collectibles. However, the store is much more than that. They have a massive collection featuring everything from Marvel, GI Joe, Pokémon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wresiting, and so on. It really is an incredible place.
Evansville Toys & Games was started by Daniel Barritt, who first began selling items at Diamond Flea Market. However, after the flea market caught fire in 2021, Barrit lost most of his inventory. In response, he pressed on, setting out to open his own physical storefront, which can now be found at 3810 E. Morgan Ave. in Evansville. In fact, the business just celebrated its third year of serving customers.
"My love for toys and video games has always been huge," Barritt said. "I am so thankful for all the love and support the community has given us. I just want everyone to know we appreciate them so much! Their friendship and business mean the world to us."
Barritt added that the most popular items at the store are action figures, Pokémon cards, and retro video games. There is definitely a wide variety of each, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. The store is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
