Fudge Sold at Marshalls Stores in IN, IL & KY Recalled For Potential Mold Contamination
According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a Canadian fudge company has recalled a product sold in Marshalls and TJMAXX stores nationwide, including Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky "due to potential mold growth contamination."
Montreal Fudge May Be Contaminated with Mold Growth
The company, Authentik Fudge based in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, Canada, is recalling 840 units of Chocolate Fudge with Nuts sold under the brand name, MONTREAL FUDGE. The products were distributed on June 19, 2024, and June 20, 2024 through Marshalls and was sold across the country.

Packaging Details for Recalled Fudge Sold in TJMaxx & Marshalls Nationwide
The recalled products are packaged in a gabled box labeled Montreal Fudge, Chocolate Fudge with Nuts. It is a 5.6 ounce package stamped with lot numbers and expiration dates:
- lot 0241500805 and expiration date of 2025/MR/01
- lot 0241690105 and expiration date of 2025/MR/17
- lot 0241690205 and expiration date of 2025/MR/17
FDA Says No Other Products Affected By This Recall
The FDA says that no other products are affected by the recall, and that no illness have been reported as of yet. The recall was initiated after a consumer complaint claiming molded pieces inside a box that had been purchased. They say that unpacked, sealed products at the manufacturers facility also had beginning signs of mold.
