Leaf Pickup Dates Announced For Evansville And Newburgh
It’s officially time to start thinking about your fall leaves, and both the City of Evansville and the Town of Newburgh have revealed their plans.
Admittedly, I am team "leave the leaves." However, I understand that not everyone feels the same way. If I'm being honest, the trees on and around my property drop so many leaves that even if I bagged and disposed of a lot of them, there would be plenty left for the local critters that overwinter in them.
So, if you're ready to start raking and need to know when to place your leaves at the curb, I've put together the details for you.

When Leaf Pickup Begins In Evansville
The City of Evansville will collect leaves beginning Monday, October 27th, and continuing through Friday, December 12th. Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will provide leaf pickup for Evansville residential customers who pay for trash and recycling through their water/sewer bill. Here’s how it works for those customers:
- Leaves must be bagged in biodegradable plastic leaf bags, paper bags, or placed in containers.
- Place bags at the curb beside your trash cart on your regular trash day.
- All items must be set out before 6 AM on collection day.
- If leaves are missed and you followed the rules, call Republic Services at 812-424-3345 within 2 days.
- Not eligible: apartment complexes, mobile home communities, businesses/commercial properties, or utility customers outside city limits.
- Heavy trash pickup will be temporarily suspended during leaf season and will resume on December 15, 2025.
Newburgh Leaf Collection Schedule And Rules
If you live in the Town of Newburgh, leaf pickup will begin on November 7th and continue through December 5th. Residents can leave their bagged leaves at the curb where they would normally set out their trash. Additionally, leaves can be taken to the Warrick County Disposal & Recycling Center.
Why Bagged Leaf Collection Matters In Fall
No matter where you live, bagged leaf collection keeps our storm drains clear, our streets safe, and our neighborhoods tidy. So if you're not team "leave the leaves," now is the time to stock up on bags, rake a little at a time, and help keep our communities clean and ready for winter.
