
More Road Closures Announced in Evansville This Summer

Evansville Roads Known for Construction and Closures
Anyone who has spent any time at all in Evansville knows the Southern Indiana city is notoriously known for two things: potholes and road construction. The City of Evansville released a new list of current and upcoming road closures around the city.
City Officials Announce New Closures
In a post made to the official City of Evansville - Government Facebook page, community leaders shared the news of road closures that were just approved by the Board of Public Works. They are encouraging residents to adjust their travel plans and to be extra cautious.

Please check the list, plan your routes, and be extra cautious around work zones. These improvements are all part of building a stronger, safer Evansville!
Full List of Approved Road Closures
A number of the approved closures are planned for the city's downtown, including more than one planned for parts of Main Street. Here's the list of approved closures:
- Riverside Drive at Chestnut Street - exact dates for the closure are unknown
- Alleys between SE 1st Street and Riverside Drive - exact dates for the closure are unknown
- SE 6th Street from Walnut to Locust Streets - set to reopen July 22nd
- Old Post Office Road from First Avenue to Berry Lane - closed July 23rd 10 am - 11 pm
- St. Joseph Avenue from the Lloyd Expressway to Illinois Street - 6:30 pm - 6 am through July 23rd
- Main Street from 5th to 6th Streets - 3 pm - 11 pm July 26th
- Intersection of North 4th Street and East Uhlhorn, eastbound - closed through August 24th
- Main Street between 6th Street and Marten Luther King Boulevard - Wednesdays through September 17th.

More Closures Likely as Work Continues
