Costco & Trader Joe’s in IL, IN & KY Issue Recall Tied to Deadly Listeria Outbreak
Retail chains Costco and Trader Joe's have issued recalls for a number of products sold in their stores that contain dairy products linked to a nationwide Listeria outbreak.
Two Deaths Linked to Nationwide Listeria Outbreak
Yesterday, we reported that dozens of dairy products sold across the country have been recalled due to contamination with Listeria, a bacteria that can be fatal for some. There have been two deaths linked to this outbreak already, according to the CDC.
Thirteen Brands in Initial Recalled
The initial recall includes products manufactured by Rizo López Foods, out of Modesto, California. The products were sold across the country under thirteen different brand names and include cheeses, yogurts, creme, and sour cream.
Costco & Trader Joe's Recall Additional Products
Retailers nationwide have pulled the recalled products from store shelves. However, Costco and Trader Joe's have pulled additional products sold in their stores that were made with ingredients from the Rizo López Foods recall.
