‘Yellowstone’ Reveals a Terrible Diagnosis as a Dutton Is Attacked [Spoilers]
Yellowstone continued to air Season 1 on CBS on Sunday (Oct. 8), and Episode 6 revealed a terrible health struggle as one of the Dutton family survived an attack.
Episode 6 begins with Kayce (Luke Grimes) in a confrontation with Rip (Cole Hauser), who believes he is not pulling his weight on the ranch. The conversation turns violent, and Rip ends up besting Kayce in a fistfight.
John (Kevin Costner) is growing closer to Tate (Brecken Merrill), and Monica (Kelsey Asbille) is concerned, asking him about the Yellowstone brand that Kayce (Luke Grimes) and others bear. John ends up telling Monica a dark family secret as he tries to gain her trust.
Elsewhere, a journalist becomes interested in the Duttons and their story, while Chairman Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) begins to make a move on the Paradise Valley development that threatens the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
During a meeting with the governor, Jamie (Wes Bentley) discovers that John had had cancer, which he disguised, while Beth (Kelly Reilly) and the governor end up at cross purposes.
Episode 6 also features a confrontation between John and Beth Dutton, as well as an incident in which Monica is shoved to the ground at the school where she teaches. She ends up with a concussion, and she collapses at the end of the episode, leaving viewers to wonder if she is alive or dead.
Yellowstone airs on CBS every Sunday night.
