This past weekend was the 4th of July, and a lot of people show their patriotism by wearing clothing with the American Flag on it.  A friend of mine was told that was disrespectful, what do you think??

Now I've heard that wearing the actual flag is against flag code and is disrespectful, and I fully understand, and even agree with that.  The flag is for waving, not for wearing! However I think wearing red white and blue colors to show of your patriotic pride is a great thing!

Here's what some WKDQ Listeners said:

Heidi Morris Everyone I knew was wearing the flag?lol

Billie Lakes My husband is retired military was in for almost 22 yrs and he says it is disrespectful to wear an actual flag. You know one that can hang from a flag pole. But he has a bazillion shirts with a flag on it and that is very different.

Megan Woodrow Unless an article of clothing is made from an actual United States flag, there is NO breach of flag etiquette whatsoever. People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. There is nothing illegal about the wearing or use of these items

Shawn Hufford I'm an army vet and this was my outfit

Then there was this guy:
*Name withheld* "Don't know about the flag but Man them shorts too tight!!!!"
I think he might have missed the point of the post... but to each their own I guess! The picture and shorts he's referring to is below, it's a picture of me from 2014, It's the only picture I could find of myself wearing the American Flag, but I used it to help get the point across about what I meant by wearing the flag.
What do YOU say?!  Join the convo below!
