Indiana State Police Escort IU Football To Airport For National Championship Game

Believe it or not, the Indiana Hoosier football team is playing in the CFP (College Football Playoff) National Championship game tonight. The Hoosiers will face the Miami Hurricanes tonight at 6:30 pm for the whole shebang. The incredible, historic season the Hoosiers have had will come to an end, no matter what, this evening. Will the Cinderella story be complete? Will the Hoosiers go undefeated with a 16-0 record? In case you still haven't grasped how historical this season has been, the last team to go 16-0 in football was Yale in 1894. As an IU fan, I can say that the statistics around this game are almost incomprehensible. If Indiana wins tonight, it will be exactly 50 years since the school's men's basketball team went undefeated. The legendary man known as The General, Bobby Knight, coached that team in the 1975-76 season, and no other college basketball team has done so since (although some have come very close). Knight accomplished this in the bicentennial year. Coach Curt Cignetti's magical team is trying to achieve this in the semiquincentennial year. Should the Hoosiers pull it off, Indiana would have the most recent undefeated teams in basketball and football. That's an absolutely insane statistic, and one that the entire country seems to be backing.

Indiana State Police Escort Hoosiers To Send-Off In Style

Who would we be as a state if we didn't support one of our state schools in this historic moment in time? The Indiana State Police understand the situation, and they've been supporting the team in every way possible, including providing a police escort to the airport. The ISP put together an excellent video of the escort, but what makes it so cool is the audio they used in the background from the movie Hoosiers. Perfectly edited together to bring you the cold chills this moment deserves, check the video out for yourself below.
