When I was very young, I remember planting trees with my grandfather in the front yard of his house. It was the first time I had ever seen the process, and it’s a memory that fills my mind every time I head over there to visit. Those trees were planted 20 years ago, and it’s been incredible to see them grow into their current state. While the weather recently took one out, I believe the other is still in good shape.
Indiana DNR Division of Forestry’s Community and Urban Forestry (CUF) Inaugural Photo Contest
The spring and fall are some of the best times to plant trees due to mild soil temperatures. Throughout November, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is accepting entries for its Inaugural Urban Forestry Photo Contest, which encourages Hoosiers to take advantage of the season by planting trees and photographing their efforts. The top three photos will win prize bundles at this year’s Indiana Community & Urban Forestry Symposium.
DNR Photo Contest: Rules and Entry Details
The contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia at the time of entry. However, all photos must be taken by the person submitting the entry, and all photos must be taken in 2024. Additionally, there is a limit of one photo entry per person. All image files must be under 20MB.
