This Indiana City Features One of the Top 10 Best U.S. Trails
USA Today recently broke down the best recreational trails in the entire United States, and one of those can be found right here in Indiana.
There are thousands of recreational trails across the country, providing folks with a great way to get exercise, unwind, and just get out into nature. For me, I love hiking and find that it's a great way to calm the mind after a long week. If you like exploring the outdoors as much as I do, then you'll be pleased to know that one of the best trails is not too far out of reach. USA Today has put together a list of the "10 Best Recreational Trails" in the country nominated by an expert panel and then voted on by readers.
Several of the trails on this list can be found in Virgina and West Virgina, but those aren't the only hiking hot spots. Coming at number one on the list was the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. According to USA Today, this locale offers 26 trails across nine different ecosystems. Visitors can travel through wildflowers, tall pines, and even take in some pretty spectacular views from the overlook on the Gulf Oak Ridge Trail.
If we move further down the list, we'll find an Indiana trail hanging out at number nine. In fact, this is the only trail from the Hoosier State to make it on this exclusive list. It's called "The B-Line Trail" and is located in Bloomington, Indiana. According to Visit Bloomington, the multi-use trail is on asphalt and extends a total of 3.1 miles from the east side of Adams Street, through downtown, through Switchyard Park, to the north side of Country Club Drive. It definitely looks like a stellar place to enjoy a nice run, walk, or bike ride.
