Meet the Fighters and See the Full Fight Card for Guns & Hoses 15 in Evansville
The time has come once again for 30 local and regional first responders to rumble inside the ring under the lights at the Ford Center in downtown Evansville for Guns & Hoses 15!
Now, I may be a bit biased because I am the ring announcer for the event, but in my opinion, the annual charity boxing event benefiting 911 Gives Hope is hands down the most exciting and entertaining event you'll attend this year. Since its humble beginnings at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in downtown Evansville, the event has not only grown in popularity, it's grown in spectacle. While the fighters have always made their way to the ring to a theme song of their choosing (usually a popular rock, rap, or country song), the walk now takes place down a long, raised, ramp with a giant video board behind them showing their name, picture, and stats while towering flames and pillars of smoke shoot into the air from the sides. Plus, since the fights only consist of three - one-minute rounds, there's no time for dancing around and conserving energy for later rounds. It's either punch or be punch.
If you've never been, here's the full fight (including introductions) between two Guns & Hoses veterans, Ryan Conaway and Dylan Basham, from last year's event.
It's an action-packed night every year and this year promises to be no different with a mix of veterans returning to the ring and a few new faces as well.
