Grandma Must Park Her ’64 Mercury Comet After 576,000 Miles [VIDEO]

I drive 100 plus miles a day. And, I couldn't do it without my 2008 Mercury Milan, Jade. Yes, I named her. And, YES she is a SHE!! lol But, Rachel Veitch has nothing on me — the 93-year-old grandmother has had her Mercury Comet Caliente for almost half a century.

She bought the car for $3,200 when it was new in 1964 and has put 576,000 miles on her "Chariot." Rachel has appeared on auto shows and even on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,’ But, Rachel is parking her car permantently.

“I am legally blind, so I can no longer drive my lovely Chariot,” she said. “They don’t have to take it away. I would not dream of driving that car again.”

She says the car has outlasted three sets of shocks — and three marriages. lol  She’s taken AWESOME care of her car, it's gone through 18 batteries, eight mufflers and countless oil changes.

Lesson to be learned...Mercury's are GREAT cars!! ;-)
