If you're planning on celebrating St. Patrick's Day tonight by consuming some adult beverages, you have the opportunity for a free, sober ride home.

The Evansville Police Department took to social media to remind residents of a program called Sober Ride Indiana. This is a program for those out drinking to get a safe, free ride home on high-risk holidays and events. St. Patrick's Day certainly falls under that category. A lot of bars in the area will be providing several St. Patrick's Day specials and parties. While there's nothing wrong with going out, and partaking in these events, you want to make sure you aren't out drinking and driving afterwards and endangering the lives of others and yourself.

The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute created the Sober Ride Indiana program to help save Hoosier lives and prevent traffic fatalities due to drinking under the influence.  If you're planning on going out for St. Patrick's Day tonight or this weekend, please take advantage of this program. It's there for YOU and could save a life.
