Feast and Film: Evansville's Showplace East Introduces In-Movie Dining

Earlier this week we talked about the most outrageous snacks that you have snuck into the movie theater. And by outrageous, I'm talking about full meals in some cases. How Dennis snuck in a bucket of chicken is beyond me LOL. Now, as if we manifested it, Showplace East now offers a full menu of food and drinks in all of the theaters.

Like the Royal Suites, But For Everyone

I have only seen one movie in the Royal Suites, which was a really neat way to see certain movies while eating and drinking. There are fewer seats in that particular theater and it was usually utilized for adult-type movies.

The experience was fun, but we were having a girl's night with Magic Mike. I cannot imagine watching a movie like Guardians of the Galaxy with people chomping down their dinner.

Showplace posted on social media that you will order food and drinks before you go into your movie, then the goodies will be delivered to you.

Pros:

  • Makes dinner and a movie a neat experience
  • No one has to decide where to eat
  • Might feel like the drive-in

Cons:

  • Distracting chomping
  • Various food smells
  • Will this new service require (Or suggest) a tip?
  • Mess. It's a challenge just to clean up popcorn and Pepsi

This service is only at Showplace East at this time.

15 Tips to Keep You From Being 'That Person' at the Movie Theater

You don't want to be the person that ruins the movie experience for everyone else. So, memorize these tips, and enjoy the show.

Reminder: Showplace has a fairly new age policy.

No person 15 years or younger is admitted after 6 pm unless accompanied by an adult 18 years or older. The accompanying adult must purchase tickets to the same movie, is responsible for the conduct and safety of the minor, and must remain with the children throughout the entire movie. A state-issued ID is required for proof of age.
