Evansville Women Are Reporting Being Followed in Stores
This is a great reminder to be aware of your surroundings.
Evansville is a great place to live, and it's very easy to get comfortable and forget to always watch your surroundings.
I saw two Facebook posts yesterday, both from different women on the east side of Evansville saying that they had to report to the managers about strange men seeming to follow them throughout the store.
The first post from Amie, was posted on March 19th she was at the Walmart on Burkhardt Rd and it reads:
Please watch your surroundings at any store. This man followed me at the Burkhardt Walmart for about 20 minutes while I shopped. I got so nervous that I called my husband to the store to walk out with me. I talk to management at Walmart and they said another lady had reported the same thing. He was at the end of every aisle. Just Please be aware of your surroundings.

The next post was from Angela on March 20th, who was also on the east side of Evansville, however she was at Meijer on North Green, she says:
I went to Meijer today to do some shopping with my hubby. I went back to the electronics (by myself real quick) to find a phone charger and in the isle next to me a bigger man with dark short hair and he was staring at me. I stared back at him and waited there for a min. At that time I couldn’t focus because he was scaring me. He then picked up his phone made a quick call. I decided I was was going to just leave that area. I walked through the kid clothes (little girls)which was right by where he was standing. He proceeds to follow me. I zig zag through the baby isle and he is following close behind me. I then thought ok he is really following me. I turned and looked right at him then turned back around and kept going towards the front of the store where my husband was waiting for me. I zig zag through the grocery area walking as fast as I can and he kept following close behind me. I was then frantically looking for my husband who was getting in a line to check out but I didn’t know which line. Finally I see Ryan and I mouthed to him someone is following me. Ryan also noticed it and gave him a look. As soon as I got next to my husband the man walked quickly out the door. Very very scary!
Meijer Evansville IN around 11:45 N Green River Rd.
I reported it to the manager and they are pulling up the video.

Those are two stores I frequently grocery shop at. Even if it turns out in both instances it was nothing, it's always good to be aware, and keep an eye on your surroundings. You never know what can happen.
If you feel unsafe in a store, tell the manager, and have someone from the store walk out with you, or contact the authorities. Even if you aren't sure if you're being overly cautious, it never hurts to go ahead and have a report done. Follow your gut instinct.
Thank you so much to Amie and Angela who allowed me to share their stories. It's a great reminder to always pay attention to your surroundings. In this social media world we live in, it's easy to get caught up looking at your phone and not pay attention to your surroundings.
