Evansville’s Taco Festival Returns to Main Street for Sixth Year
If you like tacos, you may want to take some time to check out a fan-favorite festival close to your backyard. The 6th annual Evansville Taco Festival returns on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Main Street Food & Beverage Event Center. Additionally, some of the festivities will take place along a portion of Main Street itself. Personally, I can't wait.
The taco fiesta will feature over 14 taco booths and food trucks, each with their own unique style and flare. Event goers will even have the opportunity to vote for their favorites during the People's Choice Judging for Best Taco. Visitors 21 and older can then wash all those tacos down with specialty drinks and margaritas.
If you're feeling extra hungry and up for a challenge, you can participate in the festival's taco eating competition. However, if you're really brave, you can be a part of the chili pepper eating contest. (Pepto Bismol is not included.) I would be very curious as to who would win both compeitions, but I will admit, it won't be me.
Although the event is all about tacos, it just wouldn't be a Hoosier party without a friendly game of cornhole. Those interested in testing their game can sign up for the tournament online. While I may not be able to wolf down a hefty amount of tacos in a timely manner or take on a pepper challenge, I'm no stranger to cornhole. Then again, I've never played the game while enjoying a bundle of tacos and margaritas, so I may not be much of a threat. More information about the festival is available on the Evansville Taco Festival Facebook Page.
