Otterball is back at Bosse Field Friday night!

The Otters came up short of a deep playoff run last season despite having the best record in the Frontier League heading into the final few weeks of the season after they were stripped of ten wins when former pitcher, Will Oliver was deemed ineligible to play for aging out of the league. A losing skid followed forcing them into a must-win situation in the final game of the season. A game they would ultimately lose, bringing their season to an end.

But that was last year, and nothing can be done about it now, so like any team, the Otters will leave the past in the past and move forward into the 2016 season with their sights set on bringing home the Frontier League Championship.

A few familiar names will take the field when the team begins the 2016 campaign at home Friday night, including manager Andy McCauley who signed an extension with the team at the conclusion of last season, as well as first basemen Nik Balog and outfielder Chris Sweeney who will both wear an Otters' uniform for the third straight season, and outfielder Josh Schultz who will be on his fourth-straight stint with the team and will add coaching responsibilities to his duties this season.

Tickets for Friday night's home opener against the Schaumburg Boomers are available online through the Otters' website, as well as the Bosse Field ticket office. Tickets will also be available at the gate the day of the game.

First pitch for Friday night is set for 6:35 p.m., with a forecast calling for temps in the mid-to-upper 60's and a 10-percent chance of rain. The game is the first of a three game weekend series with Schaumburg.
