Evansville Hoses Hockey Hosting Benefit Game for Baby Daughter of Madisonville Firefighter
The Evansville Hoses Hockey team will be lacing up the skates for a fundraising game to help the infant daughter of a Madisonville, Kentucky firefighter who is waiting on a heart transplant.
The November 9th game at Swonder Ice Arena against the Madisonville Fire Department team will benefit the medical costs for four week old Emmalyn Grace Eli, the daughter of Madisonville firefighter, Cade Eli. Emmalyn was born in Madisonville on August 26th with heart defects that doctors determined could only be repaired with an entirely new heart. After settling on the diagnosis, she was transported to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville where she is being medically stabilized with a device called an "Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation machine" that essentially acts as her heart and lungs to pump oxygen into her blood stream. She will remain on the machine while waiting on a transplant.
According to the event details on the Hoses Facebook page, tickets for the game will be available soon, as well as locations where you can buy some. In the meantime, the team is also looking for donations for a raffle and possible silent auction that will be part of the game. If you or someone you know owns a business that would like to help, contact organizer, Kelly Forbes, on Facebook.
