Discovery of Old Love Letters Leads to Search for Local Family
Last October, Cassie Major's father sadly passed away. While cleaning out his home, Cassie came across some old love letters. Now, Cassie, who resides in Vermont, is trying to find the family of the couple who wrote the letters. If you have a family roots in Evansville or Boonville, IN, you may be the person that she is looking for.
Cassie asked her sorority sister to post this to social media in the Evansville/Boonville area:
Looking for any descendants of Ivan and Kitty (Fay) Henning. I have letters of correspondence between these two sweethearts mostly from the early 1900s - 1905 to his death in October 1960 . Kitty (Katherine) lived in the Booneville and Evansville while he (Ivan O. Henning) was writing letters from St Louis as a traveling sales manager for The Buck’s Stove & Range Company. If this sounds like any of your family history and you would like me to send you these letters...
Cassie told us that she found the couple's gravestones on a website and they rest in Evansville. She'd like to mail the letters to the Hennings' family. Let's all help!! Share this blog to spread the word, make it go viral. :-)
If you or someone you know has ties to the Hennings, please email Cassie at majorinvt@aol.com.
