Carrie Underwood made her return from maternity leave at the 2019 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 7), and she had lots of help. The country superstar, This Is Us star Chrissy Metz, Lauren AlainaMickey Guyton and Maddie & Tae teamed up for a performance of "I'm Standing With You," a song from the Breakthrough movie soundtrack.

The performance began with two spotlights on Metz singing in a dark blue gown.

Alaina, Maddie & Tae, Underwood and Guyton were all also wearing deep blue dresses, and they took turns belting out the inspirational hit with impressive runs and moments. All of the harmonies and vocals complemented one another.

The performance marks Metz' live television singing debut. The standout collaboration proved just how talented females in country music are, especially when they're supporting one another.

Metz makes her starring feature film debut in Breakthrough, which is set for release on April 17. The faith-based film explores a family's story of adoption, tragedy and redemption, and Metz stars as the outspoken mother. Recording "I'm Standing With You" for the song's soundtrack, says Metz, was a dream realized.

"As an actress, you’re not always taken seriously as a singer,” she reflects. “You can’t always cross over, whether it’s drama to comedy or an actress to musician. I can’t even believe it’s happening. I really, really can’t. It’s been a gift on top of a gift.”

Nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards, Underwood gave birth to her second child in early 2019. Jacob Bryan Fisher was born on Jan. 21, the second son for Underwood and her husband, former NHL hockey player Mike Fisher.

Underwood will begin her Cry Pretty Tour 360 in late May; she'll play North America and the UK throughout the rest of the year with support from Maddie & Tae and Runaway June. The trek is named for Underwood's 2018 album, Cry Pretty.
