It's a great program that coincides with Earth Day.

Target will once again be taking in old car seats to recycle, and you can get a coupon for 20 percent off car seats, strollers, booster seats, etc. either in stores or you can shop for a new accessory online.

The old car seats will be recycled to create all kinds of new products.

Did you know most car seats are not eligible for most curbside recycling programs? And used seats shouldn't be given away or sold since standards change about every six months. If a car seat has been in an accident, it needs to be replaced immediately.

Target has collected hundreds of thousands of car seats that have gone back to landfills for recycling.

The Owensboro location, as well as the two locations in Evansville, are participating in this event.

The car seat trade-in event runs Monday, April 22nd until Saturday, May 4th. Online purchases with coupon go through Saturday, May 11th.
