Buck Owens’ Monster Album Cover Takes a Swipe at Roy Clark
When Buck Owens released his hit album It's a Monster's Holiday just in time for Halloween in 1974 he took a swipe at his Hee Haw co-star Roy Clark. The show had been on national TV since 1969. In 1973 TV Guide did a cover story about the very popular Hee Haw but instead of Buck's picture on the cover, they used Roy's.
When Buck came out with his It's a Monster's Holiday album a year later, there were crude drawing on the cover of Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolfman, Dracula and the Hunchback. Buck made the Hunchback look a lot like Roy. What do you think?
