BREAKING NEWS: Owensboro Commissioners Approve IceMen Move

In an announcement that we all knew was probably coming, the Evansville Icemen are officially moving to Owensboro and will become the Owensboro Icemen.

The announcement was made this afternoon during a press conference with Owensboro Mayor, Ron Payne.

The Icemen will be buying the sports complex in Owensboro and will pay for renovations to turn it into a hockey arena.

The move still needs approval by the ECHL, however, IceMen owner, Ron Geary said during this afternoon's press conference a representative from the league visited the venue and deemed it "adequate" for hosting the team.
