National Night Out was first established in 1984, and throughout the years many communities around the country have joined in on the fun. What is National Night Out? According to National Night Out's website:
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Covid-19 has caused the Boonville Police Department to not participate in National Night out for the past two years. However, in 2022, the event will return! National Night Out was originally planned to take place on Tuesday, August 2nd at City Lake in Boonville. However, Mother Nature was not cooperating, and the event was forced to postpone.
Earlier today, the Boonville Police Department announced the rescheduled date for National Night Out. Here's what they said:

We have now picked out a new date and time to try this again. Sunday, October 9th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at City Lake. If the weather is bad again, we have reserved the Alcoa building at the 4H grounds as a backup location for the same time frame.</div></div><div class="l7ghb35v kjdc1dyq kmwttqpk gh25dzvf jikcssrz n3t5jt4f"><div dir="auto">Please join us for free food, inflatables, prizes and more!!</div></div>
