The town of Boonville is the definition of "Small town U.S.A.," which is by no means a bad thing. Despite its size, its residents take pride in their little corner of Indiana and have worked hard to make it a town worth visiting with great places to shop, eat, and spend the day. Several of those residents also go above and beyond to make the town more inviting throughout the year by organizing events not only everyone in town can enjoy, but those of us who don't live there want to attend. As you can imagine, those events take a good amount of time and effort to execute, and the Boonville Merchants Association is inviting any and all residents interested in lending a hand to be a part of the team.

Boonville Merchants Association Seeking Residents to Help Plan Upcoming Events

As the name suggests, the association is made up of town business owners who have taken it upon themselves over the years to host several community events such as Picnic in the Park, the annual Square Flair, plus the recently completed Christmas Parade and three-day Christmas event village known as, "Christmas in Boonvillage" which featured a How the Grinch Stole Christmas theme this year and included free carriage rides, free 'ice' skating, photo opportunities, an open store decorated like the north pole with Santa and Ms. Claus, along with free popcorn, cotton candy, hot chocolate, crafts, and games.

My friend and coworker, Ashley and her daughter attended this year's event and by the looks of these pictures, had a great time.

The association is inviting anyone and everyone in town, regardless of whether they own a business or not, to join them in helping plan and execute next year's events, which will also include one surrounding the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th.

The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM at Trickey's Brews and Bevs at 120 West Locust Street on the town square. You don't need to reserve as spot. If you're interested, all you need to do is show up to the meetings.

If you'd like more information on the meetings and how you can be a part of them, reach out to the association on Facebook.
