If you've got newspapers, cardboard, magazines and aluminum cans laying around, now is a great time to drop them off and have them recycled! August 4th is recycling day at the old west side Walmart on University Drive. The event is hosted by the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District in partnership with Wesselman Nature Society and will take place from 8am - noon. According to a Facebook post from Evansville Mayor, Lloyd Winnecke, they will be accepting the following items:

  • newspaper
  • junk mail
  • cardboard
  • magazines & catalogs
  • aluminum cans
  • steel cans
  • #1-#7 plastic containers

They will not accept styrofoam, plastic bags or glass containers. They do ask that anything that you drop off for recycling be cleaned and sorted prior to drop off. The next recycling day will take place at the Vanderburgh 4H fairgrounds August 18th.
