Ready. Steady. Wiggle. If your kids can't get enough of The Wiggles, they have the chance to see them live in Indiana!

As a kid, I began to hear rumblings of a children's band called The Wiggles. Eventually, I saw one of their VHS tapes (yes, that's how old I am), and since that day, I was never able to get the song "Fruit Salad" out of my head. I'd be willing to bet that almost everyone in their 30's like myself knows that song.

Who Are The Wiggles?

According to The Wiggles website:

The band was formed in 1991 when founder, Anthony Field, had the idea to make a children's album. The original line-up was Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Greg Page whom Anthony met at university studying teaching & early childhood, Jeff Fatt a fellow musician from The Cockroaches and classical music composer Phillip Wilcher.

The current Wiggles line-up includes Anthony alongside Tsehay Hawkins, Lachy Gillespie, Simon Pryce, Evie Ferris, John Pearce, Caterina Mete, and Lucia Field.

While there have been a few iterations of The Wiggles, they have been a staple in children's entertainment for over thirty years. The band has quite the list of accomplishments too. They have sold over 30 million albums and DVDs, 8 million books, as well as accumulating over 2 billion music streams and 3 billion views on YouTube. More than 70 album and DVD releases later, The Wiggles have earned 18 gold, 13 platinum, 3 double platinum, 10 multi-platinum awards, and have been awarded 15 ARIA Awards for Best Children’s Album (making ARIA history as the most awarded ARIA winner in the one category), received the ARIA for Best Australian Live Act, and been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

The cool thing is that they have been a source of entertainment from generation to generation. It's been over twenty-five years since I was first introduced to The Wiggles. Now, I am the father of a one-year-old who discovered The Wiggles on YouTube and is absolutely obsessed! This girl knows all the dances to the songs. Her favorite is "The Propeller." She'll move her little arms in a circular motion and will say the word "statue" in the most adorable little voice when that song comes on. Needless to say, it's non-stop Wiggles at my house.

The Wiggles are Coming to Indiana

While you are able to catch The Wiggles on YouTube, it's an entirely different experience to see them live! If you grew up on The Wiggles and have kids who love them, you have the chance to see them in concert this summer in Indiana. The Wiggles just announced their "Bouncing Balls" World Tour, and I can't wait to take my daughter to see them live.

The Wiggles will be making a stop at the Clowes Memorial Hall in Indianapolis on Thursday, June 19th. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 21st, at 10 a.m. local time.

While the excitement on my daughter's face at this show will be worth every second, selfishly, I am looking forward to seeing the Tree of Wisdom do his thing live. If you haven't seen the Tree of Wisdom, this dude has gone viral for his epic dance moves. Parents seem to gravitate to the Tree of Wisdom and claim that seeing him live is worth the price of admission alone.
