Every time I hear Alan Jackson's song "Chattahoochee" and  he says the Chattahoochee is hotter than a hoochie coochie, I can't help but laugh.

Although, that wasn't the case at the song's debut, when I was three years old. At that age, anything hotter than my "milky", was foreign.

I kept thinking that he couldn't possibly be talking about a whore's private parts. He has to be referring to something else, so I did some research.

According to Urbandictionary.com, a hoochie coochie is "The genitals of a drunken woman. Derived from the term "hooch", a slang word for alcohol and "coochie", a slang word for a woman's genitals. The meaning becomes clear when you know the root-words involved."

Could this really be the only meaning? I dug deeper.

According to Wikipedia (never to be used on school research), a hoochie coochie was a sexually provocative belly dance that originated at a Philadelphia Exhibition in 1876. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time period. I just watched the movie 'Midnight In Paris' and I believe Owen Wilson's character witnessed a hoochie coochie dance in the middle of the movie. Wikipedia says he would be classified as a 'goochie man' as one who "either watched them or ran the show." I believe that this is what Alan and Co-writer Jim McBride was meaning when they wrote this song. Then, again only they truely know. You decide for yourself. Comment below
