Adoptable Indiana Shelter Cat Would Be a Sweet Addition to Your Family
Usually, "cat season" kicks off in the early spring as expecting cat mothers begin to give birth to their litter of kittens. After a few months of being overwhelmed with the amount of cats that show up at their door, things eventually slow down a bit at the Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS). That's not been the case this year. The shelter is overrun with cats at both its location on the north side of Evansville off First Avenue and at River Kitty Cat Cafe on the Main Street Walkway downtown which means finding homes for them is critical not only because space is needed for new animals coming in, but for the animals themselves who deserve the chance to be part of a loving family. Our Pet of the Week this week is one of those cats. Meet Caramel Apple.
Caramel Apple's Story
How he got his name is unclear, but according to the VHS, Caramel Apple is a sweet 2-year-old boy who is petite for his age, but brings a larger-than-life personality and "is sure to provide endless love and entertainment to his new home."
They also say he'd love another cat in the house to play with but would be fine with a home that provides all the attention his heart can handle.
His adoption fee is $80 which covers the cost of his neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccines. All of which would be WAY more than $80 if you paid for them individually.
If you'd like to get a jump on the adoption process for Caramel Apple, or any of the animals the VHS offers that you might be interested in, you can fill out some of the paperwork in advance on the VHS website.
