It's doubtful many in the Kennedy Center Honors crowd had not heard Reba McEntire's song "Fancy," but that they seemed to be experiencing it for the first time is a testament to the power of Kelly Clarkson's performance. She tops this list of five can't-miss moments from the CBS airing on Wednesday night (Dec. 26).

Brooks & Dunn, Lady Antebellum and Kristin Chenoweth are three more artists who tributed McEntire in song during the ceremony, while radio host Bobby Bones and actress Melissa Peterman offered a few heartfelt thoughts and memories. It was a great night for country music, with Little Big Town also appearing to perform a medley for Cher, who was also honored.

McEntire, seated beside boyfriend Skeeter Lasuzzo, took in each performance from the audience, often standing with heavy eyes as she heard so many friends share special words. She did not perform on that night, but did give an onstage performance when all Kennedy Center Honors honorees were introduced as a group.

In addition to Cher and McEntire, composers Wayne Shorter and Phillip Glass received the traditional lifetime achievement award. Hamilton co-writer Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler and music director Alex Lacamoire were honored for their work. Gloria Estefan hosted the honors, which were filmed in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 2.
