Before his show at the KFC Yum Center in Louisville four years ago, Garth Brooks took the time to have a little concert with Evansville's own, Mikey Phernetton.

Mikey suffers from Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). She, as you may know, is the inspiration behind 911 Gives Hope and Mikey's Kingdom in Evansville was named after her.

Four years ago, she got to see Garth Brooks in concert with several friends and family, including Evansville's Police Chief (and mega-Garth fan), Billly Bolin. Before the show, they arranged for Mikey to meet Garth Brooks. Little did they know how memorable this day would be. Not only was Garth a class act with them, but he also brought out his guitar to sing Mikey's favorite song "The River". If you thought you loved Garth before you saw this video, you love him even more after watching it. I know I did.

THIS is why Garth is so reveared in the music business. Sure, he has great music, but he goes above and beyond for his fans. The time he spent with Mikey is a testament to that. I remember seeing it the day that Billy posted it and having a tear in my eye. Such an amazing thing that Garth did for Mikey. He didn't have to do that. He could have just shook her hand and taken a photo, but that's not the kind of person that Garth is. Oh and if you think this story ends there, when he sang "The River" at his show that night, he even gave Mikey a shoutout. I can't love this story enough!
