The Olde General Store has been in the Alvey family for four generations, dating back to the 1920s.

The Olde General Store takes pride in its history and its roots. Being founded in Wax, KY in the late 1920's, "Alvey's General Store" would later become the foundation of the world-famous "The Olde General Store" which is located in Cave City, KY. Over 4 generations later, Leroy Alvey's grandson, Bradley Atwell, is honored to continue his grandfather's legacy.

The Most Unusual Store in Cave Country

As you can imagine, with a history dating back to the 1920s, The Olde General Store has quite a wide variety of items for sale. Because of this, they have been dubbed the "most unusual store in Cave Country," and when watching a video tour of the store, I can see why!  Just look at the selection of gemstones and other colorful rocks before you even walk in:

They also have a wide array of antiques, collector items, gifts, White Oak Kentucky handmade baskets, crafts, authentic turquoise jewelry, and, as they say on The Olde General Store's website, "and other old things and stuff!"  And old things and stuff, they certainly do have!
