This is great news for those of us who think running is miserable, but how in the world does a HOT BATH give you the same effects as exercising?

According to the researchers, your body releases proteins when it's exposed to exercise OR heat. Results of this study have shown that a hot bath can reduce your blood pressure, boosts your metabolism, and even burns calories.

How long do you need to be in a hot bath to burn a decent amount of calories? Not as long as you may think, actually. A half hour in the hot bath can burn 140 calories, which is the same as a half hour of walking.

Now, a bath doesn't burn as many calories as more intense exercise, and there are plenty of other health benefits you can only get from exercising, but it's comforting to know that you can enjoy a nice hot bath after a long day and at the same time, get your workout in!

That's a win in my book!
