What’s the Best Way to Clean Laundry and Dishes When You Have Hard Water?
Where I live, we have very hard water. For the longest time, I lived with spotty glasses and clothes that would become rough and starchy feeling in no time. I looked up several ways to combat the hard water but aside from adding vinegar to everything, I never found a way to keep the minerals at bay. -Kathy Albin
My friend suggested Borax, a product that has been around for forever and is pretty cheap. On the box, it suggested adding it to laundry and your dishwasher.
Okay, first test... I washed a pair of my granddaughters fleece pants. Usually after a wash or two they lose that cuddly softness but this not only kept them from getting rough but actually restored the softness a little.
Then, I tried it in the dishwasher. The clear glasses came out completely clear.
Borax is inexpensive and readily available at any box store or dollar store. It also has a multitude of additional uses - from flea removal to cleaning every room in the house, this product is amazing!
