Jake Owen was so close, but fell just short of the Country Whuppin' Hall of Fame. He ran into the new single from Kellie Pickler, which takes over today as the new champion.  Kellie will defend her title for the first time against Joe Nichols and his new release.

Joe Nichols’ new single ‘Yeah’ keeps the feel-good vibe of ‘Sunny and 75’ alive. On paper, the story comes across as a track that was all too popular in 2013, but the singer’s warm voice wraps the listener up like a good hug on chilly country night. His song is different because he’s not trying so hard.

Congrats are in order for Joe Nichols and his lovely wife, Heather. The couple is expecting their second baby together, news that the singer happily revealed on social media.

I love finding gems from artists before they were big stars.  Before Joe Nichols had 'Sunny and 75' and even before his breakout hit 'The Impossible,' there was 'Six Of One.'  Funny thing is that I even remember this video, but had no idea it was the guy who ended up being who we know as Joe Nichols.  Enjoy the super long mullet and 90's flare!

The country music community has been grieving since George Jones died in April. To help soften the blow -- and perhaps to cope with his feelings -- Randy Travis dedicated a new song called 'Tonight I'm Playing Possum' to a man many call the greatest country singer of all time. It's Joe Nichols 36th birthday today. Over the years, Joe has had many personal struggles  including rehab for his addictions. But now, he is married and the proud papa of two daughters. Joe brought his, part Cherokee, good looks and unique classic vocals to country music back in 1996. Here is my favorite Joe Nichols song!
