You may have never heard the name Shane McAnally.  He's one of Nashville's great, creative minds that gives us big hits through songwriting.  There was a time that he had a promising country career himself, but for whatever reason, it didn't pan out.  Right now, McAnally has several hits on the charts keeping him relevant in the music world.

2012 was quite a year for country music.  A lot of things are certainly changing.  Some like it and some don't but change is inevitable.  So what can we expect in 2013?  I have some ideas.

With the 4th Annual 911 Gives Hope For The Holidays Toy Drive happening this weekend and also Chris Young's Liquid Neon Tour happening Saturday night at The Centre, we've come up with some cool ways for you to participate in both.

Chris Young's Liquid Neon Tour is headed to The Centre's Aiken Theater in Evansville on December 1st.  He's bringing along rising stars Thomas Rhett and JoAnna Smith for the show, and since JoAnna has been a good friend of mine and of WKDQ, show called to talk about the tour and other things going on in her life.

Today, JoAnna Smith stopped by to play some tunes for us on the air including her latest single, "We Can't Be Friends."  She also stayed around to play an exclusive for WKDQ.com Live called, "Favorite Sin."

We announced last week that Blake Shelton would be headlining this year's Big O Music Fest, August 18th in Owensboro, and now we can announce another name to the lineup.  With nine number one hits to her name, Jo Dee Messina will be joining the already huge bill of artists set to appear at the concert.

JoAnna Smith's "We Can't Be Friends" has been on a winning streak on the Country Whuppin' lately and on Thursday, the when we would in out if it would gain a fifth win and go into the Country Whuppin' Hall of Fame, JoAnna called me to find out for herself, and so we could share some other big news.

For the fourth year, The Big O Music Fest returns to Reid's Orchard in Owensboro.  This year's event will be on August 18th featuring headliner, ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee, Blake Shelton!

Cleaver's Prime Sandwiches and Salads brings you another edition of the Country Whuppin'.   Joanna Smith is on her way to possibly become the 3rd member of the Country Whuppin' Hall Of Fame.  She picked up win number 4 against Kristen Kelly by a margin of 88%.  Before she can enter the 5-win Hall, JoAnna must get past some real stiff competition in Justin Moore!

Cleaver's Prime Sandwiches and Salads brings you another edition of the Country Whuppin'.   Joanna Smith has now picked up her 3rd win, defeating Darryl Worley 65% to 35%.  JoAnna is back in combat with another lovely young female artist named Kristen Kelly!
