The Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival is coming to Henderson August 1st-4th and there are 20 great Nashville songwriters coming in to tell their stories.  Today we had the chance to talk to the writer of huge hits for artists like Kenny Chesney and Tanya Tucker, Mark Alan Springer.

Mark was lucky enough to have Kenny Chesney's first number one song, When I Close My Eyes, as well as 3 more that were big hit singles.  Mark also wrote one of the greatest epic love songs in my opinion and that is Two Sparrows In A Hurricane by Tanya Tucker.  Add to that other touching 'family' songs like Collin Raye's One Boy, One Girl and you have a resume of a real writing legend.  You can see him on Friday night of the Songwriter's Festival.
