Celebrate A Downtown Christmas in Evansville, Indiana

Downtown Evansville is set to transform into a winter wonderland as the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) presents the 8th annual 'A Downtown Christmas', a festive extravaganza for the whole family. Brought to you by Engelbrecht Enterprises, this magical event will take place on Saturday, December 2nd, from 11 AM to 3 PM along Main Street, between 2nd and 6th Streets.

Free Festivities for the Whole Family

There will be a plethora of free, family-oriented activities! Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus for complimentary photos, interact with Clara the Reindeer, and let the little ones enjoy "reindeer" pony rides courtesy of Lil’ Rexings’. Hop aboard the trackless train rides, step into a giant 'walk-in snow globe,' and encounter beloved costume characters. Warm up with hot cocoa, munch on cookies, and dive into a day of joy and laughter.

Exciting new additions for 2023 include a delightful petting zoo, a towering 16’ high Glacier Canyon inflatable slide, and Santa’s Workshop Presented by F.C. Tucker Emge Realtors. The workshop boasts a roasted nut vendor with free samples, face painters, a craft station, and a letter-writing corner to Santa. Don't miss the community mascot meet-n-greet from noon to 1 PM, featuring mascots from seven local organizations.

Magical Decor and Shopping Extravaganza

Explore the festively adorned Downtown area and take advantage of shops and restaurants that will be open for business. The EID tent at 318 Main Street offers an opportunity to snag Downtown Evansville merchandise, including beanies, long-sleeve shirts, and hooded sweatshirts.

Capture the holiday magic with photos next to enchanting holiday décor, featuring a lighted archway and 12’ nutcrackers (2nd & Main), the Heart of Downtown Evansville and Santa’s Little Helpers Alley (200 block of Main), an 11' Snowflake adorned with over 3,000 lights (300 block of Main), the Tunnel of Light showcasing more than 13,000 lights (400 block of Main), and a 10’ lighted tree surrounded by an alley of twinkling ornaments (500 block of Main).

Santa's Mailbox and Community Connection

Don't forget to bring your children's letters to Santa and drop them off at Santa’s Mailbox Presented by Riverside Capital Management, located at the corner of 3rd & Main. Ensure the letters are in the box by December 15, complete with a name and return address, to receive a special response from Santa Claus before Christmas.
