Are You a Good Witch or a Bad Witch? Witch Cackling Contest to Take Place in Illinois on Saturday
Whether you're a good witch or a bad witch, you can show off your witch-cackling skills during the Wizard of Oz Festival.
Illinois Oz Garden
Located in Mapleton, Illinois just off the beaten path sits a unique garden. This garden is home to everything a Wizard of Oz lover would enjoy, complete with a yellow brick road! While at the Oz Garden, you'll also see the Wicked Witch's castle, Dorothy's house (pre-tornado), and of course Oz itself! Of course with a garden dedicated to the Wizard of Oz, it's the perfect place to host a festival celebrating all things Oz!
Illinois Oz Festival
For over a decade, Hollis Park has played host to the Illinois Oz Festival. The Illinois Oz Festival is a day to celebrate all things Wizard of Oz. There will be characters from the classic movie making appearances, as well as vendors, a puppet show, food, and more! The annual festival is set to take place on Saturday, August 12th
Witch Cackling Contest
Now this is a unique contest, and I am HERE for it! This year the Illinois Oz Festival will be hosting a Witch Cackling Contest.
Think you've got what it takes to be a wicked witch? Come show off your skills in our Wicked Witch Cackling Contest for the chance to win a wicked prize!A first prize will be awarded to the best cackler from the following categories:-Lil Witch (ages 0 to 6)-Junior Witch (ages 7 to 11)-Teen Witch (ages 12-17)-Adult Witch (ages 18+)The Wicked Witch Cackling Contest will take place at 3:30 pm in the Oz Pavilion as part of all the Illinois Oz Festival fun on Saturday, August 12 at Butler Haynes Park in Mapleton!The contest is sponsored by our friends at the International Wizard of Oz Club, Inc. and The Spirit of Oz: Wizard of OZ Characters!
