Fair Season Is on the Horizon

Spring is officially here, the weather is warming up, and the countdown to fair season is officially on.  There's really nothing more fun on a warm summer night than getting to enjoy an ice-cold lemon shake up while walking around and enjoying the local 4H fair.  There are always fun events for the family, as well as rides and activities for kids. And let's be honest, who doesn't love walking around and seeing all of the animals?

Several counties around the Tri-State host annual 4H Fairs, and it is all leading up to the grand finale of fair season, the state fairs!

The Indiana State Fair

The Indiana State Fair wasn't always in Indianapolis.  At one point in time, the Indiana State Fair was held at a different location around the state each year.

When the State Fairgrounds opened in 1892, that all changed, and since then,  the State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis has hosted more than 129 Indiana State Fairs!

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center first opened in 1892 and has hosted more than 129 Indiana State Fairs. Prior to 1892, the first 40 Indiana State Fairs were held at rotating sites around the state. In 1990, the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center began its present existence as a year-round events center. - Indiana State Fairgrounds & Events Center

 

When is the 2025 Indiana State Fair?

The 2025 Indiana State Fair is slated for August 1st through 17th, 2025.  Not much has been released about the upcoming state fair just yet, but I've been keeping my eye out! I'm a big fan of the food announcements because the Indiana State Fair always brings the most creative and over-the-top food combinations.  I mean, just look at the bloody Mary that was posted to the State Fairground's Facebook page, holy moly!
