What’s Going Into This Old Building in Boonville, Indiana?
For a while, there has been some "top secret" work being done to the old Rudolph Brothers building in Boonville. We now know what is going to open up at that location, and it's going to be awesome!
If you have been driving down Main Street in Boonville over the past few months, you might have noticed some construction work going on at the old Rudolph Brothers building across the street from Pizza Chef. Many people have asked what is going on with that building, but nobody seemed to have any answers. Heck, a lot of people asked me if I knew, but I was also in the dark. That was until recently.
New Unique Business Opening in Boonville
It has been Boonville's best-kept secret, but we finally know what will be opening up in this building that has been vacant for years. House of Iris Custom Creations will be taking over the former Rudolph Brothers building. Now, you might be wondering what exactly that is. I stopped by and spoke with the owner, Diane Alexander yesterday to get a first-hand insight on this new business opening up in Boonville.
As you can see, the building got quite the facelift from Alexander. House of Iris Custom Creations is unlike anything we have had in Boonville before, and it will surely be a place that folks of all ages will enjoy. She tells me:
My vision for this shop is to have a place for our community to show off their talents and to host classes that will be beneficial for our community. Whether you want to book a paint party, bridal shower paint party, make a hat at our hat bar, etc... or come to a class taught by local artists. For example, woodworking, jewelry design, cooking, meal prep, grilling, floral, and leather work the possibilities are endless.
Literally, this place has something to offer anyone and everyone for a fun time with the family, date night, or just to hang out with your friends to learn a new craft. Local artists can share their talents with folks to create something to decorate your home, teach them some new ways of cooking, or my personal favorites, grilling techniques and woodworking. Needless to say, I am very excited about House of Iris opening up in Boonville.
Here are a few photos that I took on my tour of the new business yesterday:
This is the area where some classes will be held for painting, creating door hangers, making your own hats, etc.
You can learn how to make your own charcuterie board and other woodworking skills with classes that will be offered here.
It's still a work in progress, but they are off to a great start for a party/entertainment venue in Boonville. House of Iris has a couple of 8x10 spots or smaller ones available for monthly rental so that your talents are displayed and available for purchase. Or if you have a special talent that you want to share with our wonderful community please reach out to House of Iris on Facebook or email houseofiriscc@outlook.com so that you can partner with them to make our community more connected.
When is House of Iris Opening?
House of Iris Custom Creations will be having its grand opening on Saturday, July 13th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out to see what all they have to offer, and to see how you can help collaborate with the community by showing off your skills and teaching others a thing or two in the process.
I know that this is a place that my family and I will be frequenting a lot. Heck, we might even host a class or two as well. Be sure to follow House of Iris on Facebook to stay up to date with all of the latest classes that they will be offering.
